Fiber glass look? maybe?

I can't believe it took me so long to get this kit, and then even longer to actually assemble it. First off the colors on the kit are amazing, I was going to paint the grey parts white to give the kit more of a contrast in colors, but at the last minute I decided not to, and I think it turned out better this way.

I didnt know it could do this o.o

The above pics are me just messing around with the Black Strike E basically, since that is all that this kit is without the Noir Striker pack, turns out it can shoot the rocket anchors from its feet, hands and back O.o
I was thinking about having a pic with it shooting whips outta everywhere but it only brings two Q.Q

Top Coating :3

So this is the first kit I decided to top coat, was it a smart choice? oh yes, the kit looks fantastic, I used Mr. Hobby mate Top Coat which takes away the shine from plastic and made the black pieces look like fiber glass.

Top Coat choice

Was it a smart choice to make my favorite Gundam my first top coat victim? No... I recommend you guys practice with something else first, I got lucky and no bubbles created anywhere, but I read later on that if you're not careful you can screw up the kit.

Love the new non-plastic look

I think I did a pretty good job, anyhow, onto the kit, the mobility is amazing, the only quirk is the way that the legs move, it can't do a full split because of the ways the pegs are set up, but who would pose Strike Noir doing a split -.-". The arms and legs bend completely upon themselves, the wrists have a pretty nice range of motion. The articulation is great overall but the selling point of this unit is the armament it comes with.

2x EQS1358 rocket anchor
2x M8F-SB1 "Shorty" beam rifle
2x MR-Q10 "Fragarach" 3 beam blade
MAU-M3E42 linked linear guns
2x 57mm high-energy beam rifle with 175mm grenade launchereach

It also brings an extra high output looking rifle which ill point out in the pics, I can't find the right name for it O.o It seems to be also 57mm.

Rocket anchor action:

This feature is used to anchor to things while rocketing an anchor from the hands, legs and Noir pack o.o
It's very fun to pose with, I stuck to normal shots, but you can pull so many silly poses with this.

Shorty Beam rifles:

Dual wielding guns, much to the style of Ebony and Ivory from DMC, the guns look gorgeous and it's what I have my Noir displayed with.

Fragarach Blades:

The blade's look awesome... I don't understand why they are called 3 beam blades though, there's only 1 beam across the blade which I wish was a bit longer. Other than that, the swords look badass.

Linear Guns:

Love this feature of the kit, they can be posed in a lot of different ways even thought they are basically just mounted on the wings.

57mm high-energy beam rifle:

While I like the shorty beam rifles better, this rifles are equally awesome looking, especially with the linear rifles pointing the same way but inverted.

Meet my little friend

Pros:

As you can see, there's unlimited impossibilities with this kit, all the different weapons and the range of motion allows for a lot of playing around (disclaimer: Grown men should not play with Gundam model kits).
All of the weapons are stunning, they all fit correctly in their own pair of hands (you get a special set of hands for the rifles, a special set for the swords, a special set for the anchors and the standard MG set)
The Noir Striker goes from normal, to flight, to rail guns very smoothly and easily.
The colors are perfectly right, and even without the top coat they look amazing.

Cons:

I wish the kit had a few more detailed dry decals than it does, some of the dry decals are way too small and could've been regular stickers and have provided some bigger nicer dry decals.
The legs don't split all the way, and while this doesn't bother me, it's weird that the rest of the body has such awesome mobility but not the legs.

Final thoughts:

I am very biased to this kit because of how awesome I think it is, I love everything about it and I can't bring myself to find many cons, I can't recommend this kit enough, it looks so amazing and it's such a fun unit to build.

On Top Coat:

This made the kit 10x better in my opinion, unlike Gundams who have a white base, the black base tends to shine a bit more and be very plasticky, you be the judge but I think the top coat took away the shine and made it look unbelievable.

On first time coaters:

Just do it man, if you're not sure enough about how the kit is gonna come out, take my advice, it's gonna look AWESOME.
